Cement Mixer Gearbox for Concrete Drum Mixers (ZL-2810)
The drum mixer is a gallon drum that rotates to mix chemicals and materials, including gravel and cement. They consist of a double cone drum. Depending on the drum mixer type, the drum can have one or more blades for the mixing mechanism.
Our worm gear reducers, helical gear reducers, worm helical gear reducers, transmissions, circular drive gearboxes, couplings, door/door operators, etc., are of high quality and are welcomed by customers. Thank you for your detailed inquiry.

How Drum Mixers Function
Drum mixers are powered by electric or pneumatic motors. These mixers can mix substances of different particle sizes, including gravel, fruit, ice cream, and even cement slurry.
The mixing mechanism of this machine is composed of a mixing drum, supporting wheel, and transmission system. The mixing cylinder is the working part of the mixer. The mixing cylinder is a biconical one. There are two pairs of high and low plates welded in the cylinder, which are arranged crosswise and form a certain angle with the axis of the mixing cylinder, respectively. When the mixing cylinder rotates, the blades move the materials back and forth in the axial direction while lifting and dropping the materials. Therefore, the mixing movement is relatively strong. Homogeneous concrete can be achieved after 35-45 seconds of mixing. A pair of discharge blades are welded inside the discharge cone of the mixing cylinder to change the rotation direction of the mixing cylinder. The concrete is pushed from the bottom blade to the discharge blade and discharged from the cylinder.
It can be used for mixing plastic and semi-dry concrete. The mixing drum is rotated forward for mixing and reversed for discharging. It applies to construction sites, roads, bridges, and small and medium-sized concrete component plants without electricity.
Types of Drum Mixers
- Tilting Drum Mixer
- Non-Tilting Drum Mixer
The working principle of a non inclined drum mixer is to mix the mixture without tilting. Instead, the drum rotates about a horizontal axis to mix and produce concrete. These mixers consist of openings at both ends. The ingredients required for mixture production are inserted at one end and collected at the other.
- Reverse drum mixer
This drum mixer is responsible for producing concrete in a single batch. The entire contained drum rotates around its axis. The material is loaded into the reverse drum mixer through the feed chute at the other end of the drum.
