How to Measure Axles Correctly?

Hub Face (HF):

measure from one end of the axle where the lug bolts protrude out from to the other end at the same point. This is the Hub Face.

Spring Center (SC):

Measure from the middle of the spring on one axle to the center of the other spring on the same axle.

There should be about a 15" difference between the Hub Face and the Spring Center measurement. (7-1/2" each side

The most important measurement is from the center of the spring to the center of the spring. Do you want to place the spring in the center of the trailer frame

How To Measure Your Bolt Pattern？

With that information, you’ve got the first part of your bolt pattern worked out. The number of studs should always be the preliminary step of researching the bolt pattern, which you’ll see on any product listing.

In this case, you know you have a 6-ear wheel, but what is the second number? This is the diameter of the circle formed by the center of the wheel lug. It can appear in inches or millimeters, so it's important to know which one you're looking at.
The bolt pattern of 4-6 and 8 lugs can be measured from the center of the stud to the center of the stud directly opposite it. The 5 lug bolt pattern is a bit difficult to measure, but you can easily complete it according to the following diagram.
