Check Valves

A check valve, also known as a one-way valve, is a device that allows the flow of fluids to move only in one direction. This is achieved through the use of a moving part, such as a ball, disk, or flap, that is pushed open by the flow of fluid in the forward direction and closes automatically when the flow reverses.

Check valves are used in a wide variety of applications, including:

• Plumbing: To prevent backflow of water in water supply systems, such as from a house to the city main.
• HVAC: To prevent the backflow of refrigerant in heating and cooling systems.
